Pray for Jerusalem
God's Word, the Bible, asks us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Psalms 122:6: "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee."
Also, God has clearly told us that the Jews are His chosen people and that He will bless those who bless them and curse those who curse them.
Genesis 12:1 "Now the LORD had said unto Abraham---
2: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. All the families of the earth would be blessed through Jesus Christ who was born to a Jewish mother to die for our sins. Most all of the Bible has come to us through God's inspiration of Jewish writers. God's Word is very clear who His chosen people are. Genesis 25:5: "And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. 6: But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country."
Why did God choose the Jews? He just did, because He is God, He can chose who He wants to. The Jews rejected Jesus, their own Jewish brother as their Messiah so He died for the sins of all the world, Jew and Gentile (which includes Arabs). Our earnest prayer is that all--both Jews and Gentiles would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He is not willing that one should perish. 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance." Will God ever break His covenant with Israel? Not unless someone goes up to heaven and puts the light out on the sun, which would put the light out on the moon and stars! Read Jeremiah 31:33-37.
